The second and third volumes follow the changing fortunes of the family, as their lives are touched by triumph and tragedy - in Glasgow at the height of the Victorian era, and in Vienna, glittering capital of the Hapsburg Empire.

About the Author
Guy McCrone was born in 1898 in Birkenhead. He was educated at Glasgow Academy and Penbroke College, Cambridge. He is also the author of numerous other novels, including Aunt Bell (1949), The Hayburn Family (1952), and An Independent Young Man (1961). He died in 1977.

I read this book many years ago and loved it. Have read the trilogy Aunt Belle, Wax Fruit and the Hayburns. Loved them all. Just had to buy Wax Fruit when I saw it.
