A delightful story, told with charm and obvious enjoyment by Nathaniel Parker. All of his voices are bang-on, but Angus and the wee kelpie himself are my favourites. This makes a lovely present for kids of all ages.

Have listened to this fantastic cd several times - and enjoyed it thoroughly each time. My sons - 6 and 8 love it and so does their grandma! Brilliantly written, brilliantly read. Makes the film version look very lame indeed.

My Grandson (aged 5) LOVES this c.d. - We listen to it in the car on journeys, whether they are short or long, and have listened to it many, many times since first hearing it last month! Its a beautiful story and wonderfully narrated - We both highly recommend this c.d.

This is good fun for all listeners, of any age.
However, one of the reviewers below seems to have misunderstood the remit of this feature and has offered a precise, but ultimately pointless critque of the more obscure aspects of sound construction.

It took a while before the kids wanted to listen to this, the cover did not grip them at all.
They finally relented on a long journey to see the grandparents in scotland and loved it!
The story was so popular, we have now seen the film (which was good, but we did not like as much as the audio book) and we are about to read the book.

Elephant tales
The monster hoax created by the Circus owner Bertram Mills when his elephant was pictured swimming in the loch.
