The Walking Dead has become a pretty large franchise over time, originally a comic book series, a TV series and the only one I care for, a TellTale story adventure game series. This game series is set up to mimic a tv show in seasons with five episodes per season so if you haven't played season one, definitely do that first.

TellTale don't make traditional games, forming to make old school adventure puzzle games their style morphed more into the story and characters being the focus with decisions you make mixed with a little exploration to push the story along. If you're after a zombie shooter or survival horror game then these titles aren't for you.

Despite them being so gameplay light they are extremely addictive thanks to the well written and varied cast come to life with superb voice acting. This time you play the roll of Clementine a small girl who despite everything has been surviving in the survival of the fittest zombie apocalypse the world has become. She, and by default you, has to make some tough decisions in order to survive, many of them you may not want to make, some of them maybe satisfying, others emotional. It's a harsh world out there.

It's a good follow up to the first season, Clementine is a great character. It's refreshing to play as a child in a game who is both hugely likable and resourceful. While not quite as good or impactful as the first season overall it still packs a pretty good punch for fans. With TellTale currently working on Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones episodes who knows when or if there will be a season three, though I hope there is.

Recommended.

+ Interesting characters.
+ Fantastic voice acting.
+ Decisions can be surprising and tough.
+ Clementine.

I downloaded this game straight to my PS4 and I have to say it's a great game.
If you've played season one then you'll pretty much know what to expect. I found the storyline truly compelling and as always, the characters come alive as you play.

The core dynamic of the game is about making moral choices and this game seems to be about preventing the characters within your group from falling out and keeping your group together. The only gripe I have with this game is that many of your decisions doesn't seem to change the outcome of the story too much. Although just playing the game and enjoying the fatastic storyline will be more than enough for casual players and fans of the comic book anyway. A great game!

For the record, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Not as good as the first season, but still really good. So why only three stars?

1. The environmental free roam is lacking
2. The control system is different, and it took me a while to figure out what was what
3. So many time consuming in game actions that could easily be skipped as they hold no merit
4. I didn't feel the same emotional connection to any of the characters as I did with Lee
5. Some chapters seemed very short in comparison to the first season (though I don't know if they actually were or if it was just my interpretation)

A good, solid follow up that isn't perfect but still much better than average.

I actually brought this and Season 1 a couple weeks back from Amazon.com as im a little impatient so ive completed both games for the ps4 and its a great game! The old gen had some little glitches but thats now cleared up! I must stress, this isnt a 'hands on' kinda game! A lot of it is cut scenes but its done so well and youre so wrapped up in the characters and their lives, you wont care! And i gotta say, the little surprise in ep 2 made was awesome!

This second season has not been disappointing and has continued a fantastic character driven story.

The game play itself while not overly refined or changed does feel a tiny bit smoother than the previous installment but seeing as TellTale games are all about the story it would be harsh to criticize that aspect of it.

Clementine is growing up fast in the deplorable world around her and whilst still cute has really grown up and learned that she needs to do what ever it takes to survive, I cannot go into much detail as I really don't want to spoil it for you. All I can say is that there is a bucket load of character development! And whilst the story itself is gripping and very well done I did not get hooked like the first. The first season I sat through one entire play through because I was really that into it.

There are only two very minor disappointments to this season;

No easy platinum trophy this time - Unfortunately if you are a trophy hunter you will only get a gold here. This is not a massive drama to me as I saw the platinum as a little bonus.

Glitchy like the first - By no means game breaking but never the less a little disappointing when it looks like characters are walking through a wall etc but no doubt a patch will rectify it.

I was fairly disappointed with this game, mainly because each part is so short and by short I mean that most of the parts are less than 2 hours. This game is better and worse than the first game, the QTE's (Quick time events) are much easier than the first game making them a lot more enjoyable (if that can ever be said about a QTE).

The story was enjoyable but I felt that any choice I made would not have made any significant difference (if any), mainly because when the game said the such and such person will remember what you said or did and then they show no sign of remembering it, it just makes you think do your choices really matter?

I also see this game more of an interactive story than an adventure because there is not one bit of the game where you actually have to think or even solve a puzzle.

And like the first one I found the dialogue timer ruined the game as you had to scan read them and click on one without really thinking or it would default to the character saying nothing. I know this keeps the game moving and in a real zombie apocalypse you wouldn't have time to think but even that is no excuse for not giving you enough time to read them properly.
