'Jessica Mann's name on the cover is a sign of quality crime fiction' - SUSANNA YAGER

Product Description

Why has a total stranger called Lesley Cameron left everything she owns to the psychiatrist and author Dr. Fidelis Berlin? And what did Lesley Cameron have to do with Murdo Wood-Wolferstan, now a high court judge, who is the son of Fidelis's oldest friend and mentor? Drawn reluctantly into a tangle of deceit and delusion, Fidelis finds that suddenly she has to question decades-old relationships. Could it be possible that one of her dearest and closest confidants is a murderer?

I saw a magazine review which said this was pungent, personal and bracingly honest, so I bought it and found I agreed, this book is about young and old people treated like real people so I really cared about them and learnt a lot. But it was gripping at the same time. Now for this author's other books!

this was the first book I'd read by this author, but I shall be looking for more of her work. I was gripped from the beginning by the unusual mix of complex thriller type plot and really interesting characters and situations.

Fantastic book, beautifully read. 26 Jan 2011

I really can't fault this lovely book. Jessica Mann at her best. It is wonderfully suspenseful and keeps you guessing right to the very end. The lead character is Fidelis Berlin who has appeared briefly in another of Ms Mann's novels "Under a Dark Sun". Penelope Freeman's voice is a perfect match to the book, with great characterisations and in particular, the gentle Welsh lilt of Fidelis herself captured perfectly. A five star book, beautifully read.
