"The Visitation" (somewhat naff tagline: 'Darkness Has A Face - Horror Has A Name') starts off with mysterious appearances and visitations from three strangers carrying the Biblical-sounding messages "do not be afraid" and "He is coming". They precede the appearance of a farm-hand who begins to heal the sick and hold religious revivals in a barn, causing some consternation within the the local religious community leadership about how to respond to something that's become far more popular than any of their churches. In the end just the hero and a catholic priest remain skeptical, and so it's down to them to sort out the mess when the Messiah turns out not to be what he seems.
This is an OK film that starts out better than it carries on, with the somewhat tubby farmhand being rather unconvincing, either as the Messiah or anything darker, and the demons who show up easily dispatched by someone muttering "In Christ's name I exorcise thee."
A fairly standard good versus evil yarn though a fairly well-done film if a bit disappointing towards the end.
