This is another book in the Badge of Honour series involving Matt Payne. It somehow does not hold the attention of the reader as the earlier books in the series did. There seeme to be more attention paid to the miscreants than to the police and involves a lot of repeat information from earlier books. Unfortunately this seems to be a common trait where the 'Griffin' books are co-wrote with his son. This first became apparent in the last two of the Presidential Agent series. I am unsure whether this is worth the money.

I was looking forward to the next installment of the Badge of Honor series, they've always been my favourite. Unhappily I was very disappointed with this offering. No coherent plot, no recognisable characters - merely caricatures of what used to be. This series, while always straining credibility somewhat, was always entertaining and very engaging. This book (and the last one) are a mere shadow of what the series was.
