A laugh a minute 3 July 2004
Format:Audio CD
This double CD really is excellent value as each each CD is over 70 minutes long.

From 'Arrival' where the expected male vicar turns out to be 'a babe with a bob and magnificent bosom' to 'Songs of Praise' where the show comes to the church, to the wonderful 'Easter Special' where more than one Dibley easter bunny abounds. Yet for me the star episode is the christmas special where poor Geraldine ends up having to eat three different christmas lunches, and she's not done then either. The utterly hilarious misunderstanding with Tristrams marriage proposal is brilliant and how could you forget that Jesus was born in Dunstable or the childrens version of Whilst Shephards Watched their Flocks by Night?!

I absolutely adore this CD but could listen to the christmas episode every single day and never tire of it. Richard Curtis at his best, supported by the best team of actors possible. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

This review applies equally to the three volumes. The 'Vicar' is the best work that Dawn French has done and although originally for television, it comes over exceptionally well in audio. The entire cast are superb as the misfits of Dibley and the humour never stops flowing. Amazingly the programmes have a country village feel to them and within the laughter serious issues are sensitively addressed.

Could there be anyone on the planet who is not conversant with the series? Of course not, so why are you waiting, just get on with making your order.
