I bought this for my daughter's first birthday and it's a hit! The tin "box" is beautifully decorated. Wind the handle to hear the tune "Pop Goes the Weasel" and the Hungry Caterpillar pops out at the end.
The handle is quite difficult for very young children to use (it moves quite freely but is quite thin so not much to grab hold of) and you need a reasonable level of strength to push the Hungry Caterpillar back in to start over. However, with an adult's help, my little girl loves it and it's very much a toy that I hope will last for her to pass on to her own children one day.
It loses a star as it's quite expensive for what it is.

i bought this for my son who is two for christmas as he loves the hungry caterpillar,i was so pleased when it arrived it plays the tune beautifly and is really well made. the box has lovely decorations on it and i think it is a toy that will last for years.
i can hardly wait for christmas to give it to him.
it is a bit expensive considering the price of other jack in the boxes, but i admit, once it had arrived and i saw it for myself i was more than happy to pay the asking price as it it a really nice toy.

Very sweet item... if I was to be critical it could do with playing a little longer before the caterpillar pops out and the handle needs careful slow turning to make the words not sound like drunken droll, but when you have it, it works very well. I am sure this will be used for many years..

Parcel was very well wrapped so very pleased with that as the box is metal. My wee girl loved it, a nice play on a classic story book character :-)
