Marc Cohn is one of the most underrated sing-songwriters of the last 15 years. This Greatest Hits collection showcases some of his best work.
Everyone will know his staple hit Walking In Memphis. But don't be fooled into thinking that is it. There are some gems here, notably The Things We've Handed Down, True Companion, Healing Hands and One Safe Place.
If you like James Taylor or Jackson Browne, purchase this album. I will guarantee that if you do, you will find yourself buying Marc's four other albums - his eponymous debut, The Rainy Season, Burning the Daze and his limited edition live release - Marc Cohn Live 04-05.
Of you have never heard Marc before, you are in for a treat. He is a master storyteller.

Format:Audio CD
This is a fantastic album for those who are new to Marc Cohn and wish to learn more. It covers his career to date and has a great selection of tracks that gives a good representation of what his music is like. This artist is seriously underrated and hopefully this album will spread the word just that little bit more. It also has an interesting essay in the booklet. A great selection of music from a great artist.

Have always like some of his stuff but decided to take the plunge and actually go and get a cd of his stuff - so naturally started with a best of collection. I was not expecting the quality of songs to permeate the whole cd and was expecting to skip a few songs, but not a chance as every song is a winner and some are truly worthy of classic status.
Fantastic songwriting coupled with a truly sublime voice make this cd a must for any serious collection.
There is much more to him that just the one 'famous' hit single and this is a good place to start.
