5.0 out of 5 stars Rock and blues at its very best. 28 Jan 2001
Format:Audio CD
Jeff Healey is a man that is pure genius. How he can execute and play the guitar so well while still being blind is beyond me. He is man that is an inspriation to us all. I think that one of my favourite tracks of all time is on this album the quite outstanding See the light, the guitaring is simply brilliant. But confidence man is my best track off this album. After first seeing Jeff Healy on the Roadhouse film with Patrick Swayze i decided to follow that up and by the Hell to pay album. I was immeditaly hooked. The very best of the Jeff Healy band album has it all, Country, blues rock and a bit of metal. I think that any one who likes real music the way it should be played will appreciate this quite outstanding piece of work from a man and his band that is one of the most underrated in the world. They have not had much exposure of the UK which is a shame. I think that this album has to be one of the all time piece of best music put together. If you have not heard the Jeff Healy band play before then you dont know what you are missing. I would recomend this album to any one that has the time and money to buy. Pure genius may there be more from this great band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the blues. 14 Sep 2003
Format:Audio CD
For a blind white boy, he plays the blues pretty well. Sorry Patrick, had to paraphrase there.
From his covers to his originals, his soaring guitarwork and tremendous vocals cut through both sensitively and agressively. The mellow parts are mellow, the rough parts are rough.
A highlight for me was the version of House That Love Built..rock n' roll. But all the tracks are superb, from the opening It Could All Get Blown Away to the magnificent closing track of Wile My Guitar Gently Weeps.
This album is a must for anyone wanting to explore Healey's style, or anyone wanting to hear one of Canada's most talented exports. Let's face it, he beats Celine Dion by several country miles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another JH masterpiece 7 Mar 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Everything Jeff turned out he did well. I have not heard a bad album from him. I don't like jazz much, but that and blues nudge so close sometimes, it often doesn't matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing band & lots of songs! 18 May 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
You get a lot of songs for your purchase and by a genius! What more could you want! This is the band that plays in the film Roadhouse. Jeff is the most amazing guitarist & surprisingly he is completely blind...now if that isn't talent worth hearing - what is!?

5.0 out of 5 stars Puts Credence Clearwater and Eric Clapton to shame..AWSOME 15 Oct 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
There are two new tracks on this disc seem to have been recorded for the cover to cover album but for some reason were left off. Jeff is the best guitarist I have ever witnessed.I have been able to catch the band live about 5 times now and they get better each time. This disc is a prime example of the bands wide range of talents from Eric Claptons Badge to Credence Clearwarters Run Thru the Jungle to the beatles While my guitar gentley weeps. You may believe that there are better guitarists however can any one of them close thier eyes and play the guitar laying in thier laps? I have yet to see any of them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best 1 Jun 2004
By Bob Davis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Jeff Healey can be brilliant and has produced some magic tracks. Unfortunately there are not many on this CD. His best album in my opinion is 'See the Light' of which only 'Confidence Man' and 'See the Light' appear here. Any best of should include 'Roadhouse Blues', 'Blue Jean Blues', 'Highway 49', 'As the Years Go Passing By', 'Holding on', 'I Think I Love You Too Much' for starters. There is a definite gap in recording/production quality of some of the tracks on this album which creates a negative feeling. Jeff can tend towards the flashy which definitely spoilt the concert I saw of him some years back, but when he plays with reserve and true blues feeling, he is worth every dollar. On this album the gap between styles is also too great. 'It could all get blown away' highlights the best, 'Shapes of things' the worst.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Album To Reflect By 20 Feb 2008
By David D. McFarland - Published on Amazon.com

I recommend this best of The Jeff Healey band over any of the other best of collections available. I have heard a few of his previous releases ie Hell To Pay etc and never got to getting any of them but why talk! Get this one, Their killer version Of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with George Harrison as a guest artist is worth it alone.Check my site out "Judemac Forever" & search msn, Google or Yahoo.

4.0 out of 5 stars I don't know if its the best, but its very good! 26 Mar 2008
By A Paul Griffin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
This is my first Jeff Healey CD, so I can't say if its really "the best" of JH, but it's all good. I think covers of Badge, Yer Blues, and especailly While my Guitar Gently Weeps are excellent. The other covers and original works are very good. I play a little guitar and can appreciate his style. I guess I'll have to buy some other albums to see if other reviewers are right about others being better. But don't hesitate to buy this one.
