Anybody buying this will know the content, so there's no need to cover ground there. What you do need to know is how good is the sound quality, and seeing that it was EMI that was responsible for this issue, you'd think that this would be assurance enough.
Wrong! This CD makes very painful listening, especially with headphones. Fake stereo, poor reproduction , alternate mixes, (for alternate read probable re-jects), which means that "The Wanderer", "Runaround Sue", "Sandy" and "Little Diane" have been completely ruined. Whoever compiled this either does not know the music or didn't take the time to get hold of first generation masters. I wonder if they even listened to the this transfer once it was finished.
On the plus side however, it wasn't expensive, and it does have the original mono single mixes of "The Majestic" and "Born to cry", which to my ears sounded about right. But, unless your desperate to get these two hard to find tracks, I would give this a miss, unless you can pick it up at a car boot sale for around 50p, and if you do, it will probably be my copy.
