Product Description

A fun look at the differences between British and American English. Written by the British bloke who moved to Tossa Lane (yes honestly!) in Austin, Texas.

After two years travelling the length and breadth of the country, the result is this tongue-in-cheek and informative guide to understanding Brit-Speak!

The paperback sold out after several reprints but can still be found next to many a loo or down the side of several sofas.

Now available electronically there is no excuse next time you watch a British TV show or visit your friends in Blighty!

I Love the book makes me laugh. The author though seems to have a dim look into americans. He seems to only know half wits.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read 2 Mar 2013

Fun to read -- and helpful! Despite a lifetime of reading British novels, old and new, I have to ask my British friend what he means surprisingly often. Not quite so often, I hope, now that I've read this book.

There is a minor Kindle formatting problem. Searching for a word misses some instances of the word, and positioning the cursor at the beginning of a word sometimes doesn't bring up the definition. I'm using a 2nd generation Kindle. Perhaps it all works in newer Kindles.

a little out of date, and not as comprehensive as I'd like. I spent a year in London recently and most of the terms were familiar to me but I did pick up a few new ones.
