Format:Audio CD
If you haven't already got a Bob James best of in your collection this is an excellent start. The sound quality is much improved upon the old vinyl versions that I have had collecting dust in my attic. One huge omission though in my opinion is Sign of the Times which was a huge hit back in 1981 in the Jazz Funk clubs.

Great compilation of some of his best

For me it's just a great trip down memory lane after a long while of not listening to this kind of music.
This double cd is packed with great funky jazz tunes that have the 1980's written all over them, great to play loud in your car and bump your head to. Or for a nice smooth evening at home with your girlfriend/boyfriend.
Some songs will sound very familiar to a lot of people, that's because the were pillaged by the rap scene who sampled them to exhaustion.
But the originals are by no means exhausting.
Four stars.
