5.0 out of 5 stars Its a Bittersweet World... 30 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This book charts the progression of one of the greatest bands of all time. From the early days in Wigan playing small venues such as The Citadel, this book shows how the long road to fame has its ups and downs and life as a rock star is not always glamerous. This book includes a very detailed Discography, including chart positions and dates in order to complete your collection. It is written in a fair and unbiast way and gives very detailed accounts of life on the road and the pressures of studio life. A great book and a must for any Verve fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most in-depth book on The Verve, yet. 11 April 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This is the third and best book I have read on The Verve. It gives the reader a greater understanding of this unique and greatly talented group. They are one of the best things to happen in the '90s, but they are also very human and this book brings this point across in a very thoughtful and often humorous way. The writing style is excellent as is the author's insights into comments and events that have been the world of The Verve. The pictures are excellent and my only complaint is that there are not enough of them. A must for any Verve fan and a great introduction to one of this century's finest groups for those who are not so familiar with them.

The history of the band who made just as big of an impact as Radiohead or Blur or Oasis did. A good picture and account of the one of the great British bands of the 1990s.
