I have read all the other books in the series and was not disappointed. There was no contiually reapting of past events. It could stand on it own very well. Just hope there is another one on the way. Jan and co is becoming part of the family now. Brilliant read. Thank you Jenny.

The last book left us waiting to see if Jan and Eddie survived the car crash. I wont say as this will spoil things. What with weird phonecalls and a owner dying and having horses taken away, and looking after a person. Jan has a lot to cope with. You get horse racing at its best, this book i read cover to cover in 24 hours. Jenny Pitman is getting better and i cant wait until nov next year and hope this book contains more of Jan Hardy.

I have enjoyed all Jenny Pitman's books so far - they are easy, pacy and just the thing to read at the end of the day or on holiday. If you want first class writing and characterisation, these may not be for you. I find her heroine, Jan, on the whole unsympathetic, and the other characters a bit two-dimensional. But the books never pretended to be Booker prize material, and the horses are wonderful!
