4.0 out of 5 stars At last! 2 Oct 2008
By Mutian
Format:Paperback
I was incredibly pleased to finally find a Vegan lunch recipe guide after months of searching amazon and various other websites. The book is written nicely and has lots of fun and creative ideas for lunch boxes. It's not very adult orientated, it's mainly about giving your kids fun and healthy veggie meals but it can be adapted to the more grown up taste. The lunches featured include vegan sushi recipes, mock meat recipes and a wide range of appetisers and desserts. Like the majority of vegan recipe books on the market that I have come across it doesn't have many pictures which I think would make it much more useful and it also has recipes for mainly US mock meats and such which aren't as widely available in Europe. I'd recommend it because the recipes are easy and above average creative wise but it's not the best recipe book in the world.

3.0 out of 5 stars not as good 9 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
I thought this would give me a few ideas for vegan packed lunches,However this book is geared for parents preparing wholesome vegan food for children and as with most American cookbooks half of the ingredients aren't available in the UK!Nicely written but not as good as expected.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vegan lunchbox 12 Jan 2012
By Nicola
Format:Paperback
I bought this book for an adult, a vet who needs packed lunches. It has a lot of good ideas and is quite inventive, however, it is definitely aimed at children not adults (e.g. portion sizes would need to be at least doubled) and some of the suggestions take a lot of preparation, which again is not what most working adults are looking for in a lunchbox.

It would be ideal for a stay at home Mum with vegan children, or a house-wife/husband who has the time and devotion to make a delicious portable meal for their working partner. Also excellent for picnics which you are happy to spend time preparing.

It has many good and unusual recipes, and a variety of packable meal suggestions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected 31 Dec 2011
By Sarah
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I've been looking at this book for quite a while but had heard various feedback and was unsure about buying it, so when I finally got around to it I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd been struggling with lunch ideas and really needed some help!
In the end I'm really glad I brought this, it is very much aimed at children but most of the ideas and lunch menus are easily transferable. I'd say I'd use about half the ideas in the book which isn't bad going really. Really adds some variety to lunchtimes, is just ashame as an advocate of vegan diets the author no longer seems to be vegan.
