I've read all the TVD books and this is probably the worst yet. Loved the earlier ones but they've seriously gone downhill. Wish I had the willpower to stop reading them but I'm an eternal optimist and keep hoping they improve!

After reading this I wasnt as shocked as I used to be back when L.S Smith was writing them but it is a different writer so I tried to stay positive. I won't say what happens as that's only ruins the book for people. Personally I see it as a means to an end with the whole series and if you want to find out what happens to elena when she starts to die in Paris than for the price I would say go for it.

This is not only the worst book in the series but quite possibly the worst I've ever read! It ruins everything. I kept reading thinking it would get better and sort things out and as I got closer to the end I realised it was less and less likely and found it very hard to carry on. But carry on I did until the end which was quite simply ridiculous. Pretty much everything from all the other books (including LJ Smith's original 7 books) is undone. I really wish I hadn't bothered. Not only have I wasted probably several hours of my life, but even more annoying it has ruined the whole series for me. I cannot tell you how angry I am!!! If you are reading Vampire Diaries you MUST stop after either book 7 - Midnight, which is the last written by LJ Smith, or after book 12 - Unseen and make up your own ending.
I have only given this book 1 star as Amazon won't allow me to give it 0! I am seriously considering burning it in the garden tomorrow. I am also considering attempting to re-write the whole book myself with an ending I'm happy with! Honestly, I (and many others) thought Phantom (the first by ghost writer) was bad but this takes it to a whole new level - at least that was just a bit boring and not well written but the story itself was almost bareable, this is just WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

You can tell that it's no longer LJ that's writing these, however it's very good. They seem to have undone all the work from other books which I found a little odd but alas. Definitly a good book but I finished it in a day :( (I'm a pretty quick reader so I'm blaming that) but yeah it was rather good. Worth the read, I'm hoping it's not the end as I'm in love with TVD :)

This book was very good but could have had more to it. It seemed a brief story to the rest of the previous books. Is this the end? Or we will see life with Elena and Damon.

I love the storylines of these books, even though I know L.J.Smith no longer writes them... I enjoyed the ending... Destiny always wins out in the end!!!
