She also edits books written by her team of in-house writer/editors, which include step-by-step activity books and a series of young non-fiction, aimed at beginner readers.
The Usborne Book of Art Ideas is a stunning book packed with page after page of brilliant ideas for working with watercolours, pastels, inks and crayons to give stunning results. From inspirational ideas for use of colour and texture to step-by-step guides on how to develop and manage different techniques, there are over 200 different designs that are easy to create and great to look at.
Basic art materials are explained in detail, with simple text and colourful illustrations, and hints and tips about how to take care of brushes and equipment to get the best out of them for longer.
Explanations of the basic techniques for choosing and mixing colours are explained in a sensible (but never dull) manner, so the reader is well-prepared to move onto the more complex sections where they are encouraged to let their imaginations run riot with colour, shape and materials.
