    5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC! A MUST-HAVE GAME! 27 Dec. 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I got this game a while ago, and I was very excited to play it, as I'd had a little play on it before at a friend's house.

I got addicted to this straight away! It's my 2nd favourite DS game EVER! It's really fun, because all the missions have little goals within them, and there's never nothing to do. You can do all sorts of things, and there are lots of different ways to interact with the other characters.

You can personalise your own character in many ways too. The clothes come in all different colours but they are nothing special, but they look cool. You can join different rep-groups and each one is very different.

The missions begin to get REALLY fun nearer the end of the game, as you can do more different and more interesting tasks.

Don't take any notice of people who say there are glitches in this game, because honestly, there aren't any at all. I have completed the game once so far, but there were certain points where I didn't get what to do next, and I thought there was something wrong, but if you actually concentrate on the game, you can eventually figure it out. The only time when you might find it a bit tricky is near the end, but at least that means the game is not easy-peasy! I like a challenge, and this game has plenty. One tip you must take in, is you have to READ WHAT PEOPLE SAY TO YOU!!!!!! If you don't, seriously, it causes you problems, because they do actually say very crucial things to you. People who reported glitches obviously don't read what the characters say, because if you do, it's much easier to accomplish tasks.

The graphics in the game I'd maybe give 5/5. When you are just walking around town, they're nothing special, but they are certainly not 'Awful' as some people say.

4.0 out of 5 stars A New Style Of Sims Game 7 May 2005
    Graphics: 3/5
The graphics on this game are pretty average. You can easily see what's going on, but it rarely appears to stun. Nothing special here.
    Sound: 4/5
The musics quite good while your wandering around, especially in places such as Club Xizzle and on the TV. However, the sounds of you fixing your toilet or shower, etc. is a bit annoying and considering things are quite often breaking...
    Gameplay: 4/5
This game is quite different from previous Sim games for two reasons: a)You control your character by moving then around with the D-pad, as opposed to simply telling them what to do; b)You don't build properties on this, you simply rent ready built ones. You control your designed character and do various tasks in order to stop the evil Daddy Bigbucks. A couple of bad points are that your stats run down too quickly (although upgrades can be bought) and your items break down too easily.
    Touch/Dual Screen Use: 2/5
There isn't really much use for the touch screen. It normally shows the menus and you can navigate them with touch. Also, some of the minigamesuse it for simple things.
    Value: 3/5
With seven main missions, a bonus one and four Rep missions, it'll take a while for you to finish it all. However, the replay value is a bit weak once you've finished it.
    Overall: 4/5
A heavily underated game. I enjoyed playing it and running around with my character playing through the story and unlocking new features. Probably one of the top 10 DS games at the moment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sims in the Big Smoke 30 Sept. 2007
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This was my introduction to the Sims not long after I got my DS. And I loved it. I'm a big fan of point and clicks, quest-like games with little to no violence. In this game, you move to the big city and have to style yourself and earn new skills and popularity to get ahead in the big smoke. You have to decide on which clique you want to join, make friends with them, but also keep the other clique members sweet when you need a favour. You start off in a small area, and to access each new area you need to complete missions and goals, often by sorting out problems for other Sims. The missions and goals range from finding lost items, making friends with certain Sims, getting jobs and impressing people. As you progress into the game, and make new friends, you get given items and let in on the secret of an underground tunnel to help you get around the town much quicker - handy when you're caught short or you need to get somewhere ASAP.

Whilst doing this, your overall mission is to free the land from the clutches of a wicked business man, apparently intent on world domination and he plans to start by buying your city!

There is a glitch in the game which sometimes prevents you from completing a certain mission first time around, but you can get round this by saving before attempting tasks.

Along side your missions, you still need to keep an eye on your stats, which can be frustrating sometimes when you need to complete a mission and can't! But with a bit of forward thinking (i.e. filling up as many stats as you can before attempting a task), that usually doesn't cause too much trouble.

The graphics aren't state of the art, but for me the game-play more than made up for that.

This game was similar to Bustin' Out for the GBA, and if you liked that you'll probably like this too. A shame they didn't do a few more like this.
