CD Description
A new roots band bursting with energy, a truly unique sound and approach The Urban Folk Quartet was formed in 2009 and played in the UK, Italy, Belgium and Spain in their first three months together. The UFQ is virtuosic, not just in feel and technical ability, but in musical concept as well it is the coming together of four of the most inspired and experienced young people working in World Music today. Led by noted fiddle player Joe Broughton members of the band have played with The Chieftains, The Albion Band, Feast Of Fiddles, Carlos Nunez, The Destroyers, The Old Dance School, Chris While and Bellowhead amongst others. A combination of Tom Chapmans cajon-based percussion, Paloma Trigass Galician roots mixed with Frank Moons obsession with the Oud and Joe Broughtons ear for a good Rock groove ensure that the UFQ does have a truly unique sound.
