Product Description

CD Description

Stephen Duffy s Platinum selling debut album from 1985, featuring the International hit singles Kiss Me and Icing On The Cake This long overdue expanded edition features newly created artwork, a brand new introduction by Stephen, a vintage interview from 1985, plus seven additional tracks, consisting of rare B-sides and four previously unreleased tracks and alternative mixes including the much sought after original version of Kiss Me . Stephen was a founder member and lead singer of Duran Duran along with Nick Rhodes and John Taylor. He left before Simon Le Bon joined and the ensuing international superstardom of the Duranies. Stephen went on to form the band Tin Tin with Mulligan and Dik Davies of Fashion, Andy "Stoker" Growcott of Dexys Midnight Runners and producer Bob Lamb. They released the first version of Kiss Me through Sire Records, topping the U.S. club charts in 1982 with the band headlining gigs in New York with support from fellow label artist Madonna. Stephen went solo in 1983, releasing this, his debut album in 1985 which was the first of a string of successful solo albums using his trademark smooth vocals and catchy melodies. Stephen later shunned the world of pop to form the critically acclaimed folk group The Lilac Time and the Brit-Pop friendly Duffy. Long respected as a singer-songwriter, 2005 saw Stephen showcasing his writing and production skills on Robbie Williams international best selling Intensive Care in 2005.

The ups and downs is an album I have been after for years, at last I have A copy. The original vinal was worn out by the amount of use it had!! This album does not disapoint. 80's pop at its absolute best.Darkest blues is one of my all time favorite tracks. If you like duffy , you'll love this /
