Book Description

4 Aug 2011
After experiencing a precognitive dream that shatters her engagement and changes her life forever, young California psychology professor Laurel MacDonald decides to get a fresh start by taking a job at Duke University in North Carolina. She soon becomes obsessed with the long-buried files from the world-famous Rhine parapsychology experiments, which attempted to prove if ESP really exists. Along with another charismatic professor, she uncovers disturbing reports, including a mysterious case of a house supposedly haunted by a poltergeist, investigated by another research team in 1965. The two professors and two exceptionally gifted Duke students move into the grand, abandoned mansion to replicate the investigation, unaware that the entire original team ended up insane...or dead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Give It A Go 9 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I enjoyed this book. The pace is steady and there are a few really creepy moments which almost had me sleeping with the light on. Please authors can we have less Mills and Boon characters-stereotypical handsome lead man etc. Apart from that and some rather irritating chick lit stuff like 'She lifted her chin' and met his gaze ....she tucked a strand of hair.....you know what I mean...It was an enjoyable spooky read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Introduction to paranormal fiction 25 Feb 2013
Format:Paperback
I was invited to read this book - something I'd not usually look at - through a facebook promotion.

I enjoyed many aspects of this book - it was scary, it was very peculiar, the interaction was usually fast paced, the ending wasn't clear.

Some aspects jarred with me, the long legs, the beautiful academics, the fast movement to a great new job. some other aspects really came home to me - the fear the jealousy etc.

This hasn't turned me into a paranormal reader, but happy to try more of the genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars INTELLIGENT PARANORMAL THRILLER 5 Feb 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The plot was interesting; based LOOSELY on real parapsychology research. The characters were well developed although not very likable. Based on this book, I will now be ordering other books written by this author.
