Like all young boys and my son included this chemistry set represented the chance to discover new potions, spells (don't ask) and stuff that allowed his imagination to fly free. So first things first and I'm guessing the people who put this set together know ... there's nothing *too* dangerous in here. There sufficient warning about some of the chemicals and a healthy warning about being careful and getting adult help. However the set iteself is a series of experiments and things to try out but to be honest it's a little light in detail and educational explanations. I think this best way this is done is more about teaching your children about process and procedure, the basics of measuring and experimentation etc. It'll keep them amused for around 3 or 4 days and then the ensuthiasm will wane. Value for money wise ... well it depends on what value you derive from this. If you simply hand it over then you'll be wasting your time and money (they will ask you to help so don't think you're off to read a book) If on the other hand you want to spend time with your children then this can be a fun time for both of you and there's lots to do. Like I said 3-4 days worth of amusement and discovery until the 'spell' wears off :) If you find these reviews helpful please remember to vote and keep the system alive. Thanks.
