The idea behind this book is great but with a hand drawn style of picture per page it becomes quite bulky for the traveller to carry round, and for a small book is actually quite heavy. For anyone who has done a lot of walking whether as a hiker or just as a tourist in a city, this will need to be a consideration in whether or not to take this book on their travels. Some of the pictures are not that realistic and themselves may not always be understood - particularly for things like toilets which vary so much the world over.

The book did does not have any reference to Asian languages... the word 'international' inplies that Asian countries would be included.
The one word per page is a waste of space. I will not be taking this crap book travelling with me.

My favorite picture in the book is an amorphous blob with the word `potato' written next to it. Maybe I'm missing something, but if you need the words to explain what the picture is, what's the picture for exactly? Also, good idea making it too big to fit even in a coat pocket and too heavy to take anywhere.
The `Point it' book by contrast is very small and has lots of photos. You could easily use it to order a Bombay martini anywhere in the world, which is the standard that should be used to evaluate a picture dictionary.

best foreign language dictionary for travel... ever

If you are not in a country where one of the 7 translated languages are spoken, you can just point to the pictorial to get your point across. Most common and some uncommon situations are entered into this compact book.
