Timeless sound 15 Oct 2010
Format:Audio CD
This is extraordinary album, and with this issue you''ll get the full of it. Comparing this remastered album with the first CD release, there is almost unbelievable difference in sound presentation. With this remastering you are about to feel the real U2 and their strength at the very beginning of their quest for the sound space that is spreading all the time. The origins of U2 are within this album and this is certainly one of the reference points in the career of the biggest band in the world. Absolutely recommended.

Timeless masterpiece 20 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This was the first U2 album I heard back in the mid 80s and I was deeply attached to it. I must have listened to it hundreds of times, and yet it still sounds fresh now in 2001.

I followed them avidly until about 1990 until I began to lose interest. For me they have never bettered this album. Obviously Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois got the band to produce something special (interestingly I also love Eno's Apollo album which he recorded at this time - some of it rubs off here)

Brilliant!! U2 are exceptional at all times, but they outdid themselves with The Unforgettable Fire. This CD really has to be up in the top10 of all time. It is really unforgettable! Unless you have been under a rock for the past 15 years, you've heard "Pride - In The Name of Love". A stirring classic which reaches right into your soul. "The Unforgettable Fire" and "Bad" are right up there too. Brilliantly unique sounds from from the Irish masters. If you like U2 or are simply a fan of deep, rich meaningfulmusic, then this is one for you!!!

Forgettable fire.
This is typical U2 - clunky guitars, Neanderthal drumming, fumbling bass and illiterate lyrics. How can a band with so little talent be so successful? Read more

Yes, there`s Joshua Tree, but The Unforgettable Fire is such a fine album. People tend to forget the U2 sound before all the effects. Read more
