A DEVASTATING SETBACK
Enemy tribesmen attacked during the Initiation. Dindi used the magic of the corn cob doll to protect herself and others but at a terrible price. Now her dreams are in shambles. In despair, she decides to step into the forbidden faery ring, and dance herself to death with the fae. Then she discovers another choice that saves her life…but breaks the ultimate taboo.

A DESPERATE OUTREACH
After being unfairly exiled from his own people, Kavio may have found a new home, but only if he can protect it from another attack by the enemy. He gathers a small group to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory in search of the ultimate prize…peace.

But by the harsh laws of their land, they cannot both break taboos and keep the peace. They will each have to choose, what, or whom, to betray.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff 14 Dec 2013

I've been struggling for a while to find a book that I could he into and really hold my attention. I bought the first book in the series as part of a fae tale collection with books by other authors. I found myself books immediately by Tara Maya's book an finished it in less than two days and I'm a slow reader! I immediately bought Taboo about two days ago and have also finished it fast. The story is really gripping an I love the whole concept of dance magic and the tribal society. I'm definitely buying the whole series :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Totally addicted to the series 2 Dec 2012

After the first book (which I got free) I wasn't so sure if I should pay for the second - but just had to because the first leaves you on a cliff hanger! In Taboo, Dindi's (the main character) visions continue, but other characters stories develop. I like Tara's style of writing and the story itself is pretty good and original. The story and the level of writing has improved greatly as in the first book I got the impression that the author was just playing with an idea. I only gave 4 stars because I've read better but enjoyed the read. I have just finished the 3rd book and am about to read the 4th. I only hope Dindi's character continues to develop though, I might get sick of the whole woe me I'm Dindi storyline. Got to read the next book to find out what happens next...
