5.0 out of 5 stars Send In The Clowns... 10 Jun. 2014
By Rachel VINE VOICE
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Roll up! Roll up! It's the one you've been waiting for!

Thanks Mr Haywood for giving us The Second Reality (a brand new RR Haywood novel; start of a new series, fab in a different way) to tide us over. But this, right here, Day 15 is the main event. A big top worthy, top hat wearing stupendous instalment in the must-read mega-saga The Undead.

How is it that I'm still writing discerning, glowing reviews 15 books into an as-yet (criminally) formally unpublished work? Well it's simple really. They're outstandingly fresh, human, pacy, action packed and surprising. There's a winning formula, yes but 15 books in, never EVER formulaic. Characters you can love, hate, laugh at and cry with making you take a full-on rollercoaster of emotion in every single instalment.

What keeps it fresh is the carefully crafted balance between intricate, claustrophobic, horrific apocalypse and sweeping universal themes of love, loss, bravery, sacrifice and hope. Rarely have I seen a writer able to simultaneously create on such a grand scale but with such attention to minute detail, doing both confidently and superbly.

Truly a stunning Scheherazade of an experience; a new tale spun afresh each day to keep the readers enthralled and howling for more, mesmerised by the master storyteller RR Haywood. I for one would love there to be 1001 nights (or days) of this one.

Day 15 sees us catch up with Howie and all our favourite characters the day after the cataclysmic storm. There is time to breath and take stock of priorities. Time, briefly to stop frantically careening from crisis to crisis for a few very short hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant amazing gripping !!!! Please do more 28 Sept. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is ,without a shadow of doubt, an amazing plot. In my absolute honest opinion I believe that this would receive instant cult following if it was in America ( our friends across the pond would have this done and dusted for the author by now ( so unfair, the publishers obviously are bloody blind ) . This is better than the walking dead !!!!!!!!
This to me ( and I love zombie apocalyptic stories,28 days day of the dead ) is absolutely worth every penny.

I would urge anyone to start this story , I did and nearly jeapordised my dissertation due to picking up my kindle first instead of textbooks. I would highly rate this author and his ability to give life and depth to all the characters. I waited until the next lot was made and put on the kindle ( that nearly killed me just waiting )

FANTASTIC.
I hope and prey that the powers that be realise that this is a diamond of a story and with luck it is made into something for the screen. IF NOT I WOULD REMORTGAGE AND DO IT MYSELF FOR THE AUTHOR, that's how confident I am you will love this highly addictive storyline. A motley crew with feelings and a Albanian hit man to boot. Better than a Englishman trying to be a southern policeman !! What more can happen ... please do more and quickly :)

I hope for the author you read this and be proud of your efforts
Keep this up mate , it keeps my nights short and my imagination very very happy

Just remember ( the publisher film producer) ..........he's the one that should be coming !!!!!!!!

The UKs answer to the walking dead.
Better than the walking dead !!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars so who likes trifle? 11 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Brilliant another day but another story never repeats that's what I love about this series (and dave). A few scenes creeped me out a bit but for someone who has read loads of zombie fiction it's refreshing to be creeped out.
I would advise anyone to have a read at this series not just zombie fan's but anyone who likes a good exciting riveting and fantastic dialogue between the characters, loved it and by the way I am never ever going to a circus again (thanks rich ) but could really go a trifle :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great instalment 13 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Following the craziness of the battle at the fort and super-storm 'Jonas', we catch up with the group deciding on their priorities, and how to proceed from their newly island-ised Fort. I won't spoil the ensuing storyline, but needless to say there are Zombies, battles, and escapes, along with the ever present laughs, jokes and chuckles. However, unlike the previous books this one also sees a greater emphasis in the psychological effects of the zompocalypse, as well as the pressure that some of the team are finding themselves under.

As always, a thoroughly recommended read from R R Haywood, who yet again shows us why he really really deserves to get his books in print!

5.0 out of 5 stars superb once more 12 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Brilliant again, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a series of books as much as this, just finished day 15 and I'm already massively impatient to read day 16
For anybody reading this who hasn't read the previous books or does not think they would enjoy a zombie book I would implore them to give it a go. I'm not saying zombies aren't imperative to the story (they are) but aside from that there is great storytelling and characters I dare you not to fall in love with

Fantastic

I know it's a bit cheatish, but to be honest I have absolutely no doubt that the remaining 50% of the book will be as fabulous as the first half. In fact I would go so far as to say, its a trifle brilliant. I have been waiting, as have many others, for Day Fifteen as a priority read and it really is worth the wait. I don't know how the great Mr Haywood does it, but somehow he manages to draw you into the story to such a point that the characters become like family. If there is ever a zombie apocalypse I really hope that I can meet up with a bunch like Howie's gang. That's if I survive the cold beans......yuk

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reading
This series gets better and better with each new chapter, a little bland to start in books 1 to 7 but after that the author gets right into the flow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not as pacy as other days but the story is just as gripping
Day fifteen is not as hectic as the other days which allows more characterisation of our heroic team and space for new characters and plot lines to be introduced. Read more
