Very basic introduction to the Paleo lifestyle. Perfect for those who just want to start straight away, but for those of us who like a little more background and reasoning, I found this book didn't quench my thirst for knowledge. Don't expect any recipes, just basic lists of permitted foods - so you need to already know how to cook and be willing to experiment. Not bad, just not great.

It took me 5 minutes to decide that this book was not going to be particularly informative. The author suggests limiting eggs because of their cholesterol? Also suggests avoiding peanuts if you have an allergy! Seriously?
This book is very simplistic and not really going to tell you anything that you can't find on countless websites for free.

The Ultimate Paleo Diet is one of the best dieting books out there. Everything about this diet makes sense. How to live, how to eat... It's already ingrained in our nature. What differs in this book from other dieting books is the way in which everything is laid out. There are three parts and each part explains a different part of the diet. Part 1 refers to how to eat and why. Part 2 refers to the types of exercises that are the most successful and how to slowly make them a part of each day. And Part 3 is the part in which many other books forget-- the importance of community and how to build and maintain your motivation! The book is well-written and easy to understand. It also comes from the point of view of someone who has used diet plans so she (the author) is better able to explain why this one is simpler. And the Bare Bones Paleo Lifestyle Plan really makes it much easier to start, with menu and exercise, and also motivation and community involvement. I look forward to increasing my energy levels and feeling great!

This was free offer from Amazon, and that is what it was worth. The book was more of an advertisement for the author's website. It had a few good points on motivation, but you will get more information on the Paleo diet from Paleo Diet websites.

Its not the Paleo I adhere to. This cookbook can fit just about any eating plan. She allows many foods I avoid on the paleo plan so I don't really consider it as paleo. I'm sorry I bought it
