An excellent all-round introduction to the essentials of hillwalking. Packed with valuable tips and information on preparation, equipment, navigation, safety and survival. It includes a useful fitness programme and even dietary recommendations. There are also interesting sections on landscape photography and environmental issues. Very well written and illustrated, with some great photos. Although I've been hill-walking for many years, this book has provided a fresh perspective and taught me a lot. I wish I'd found it years ago!

This book contains more than I was expecting. It contains advice on exercise before you start,clothing and boots. correct foods, use of map and compass and gps. Safety and medical assistance are well covered. There are welcome chapters on the environment and mountain photography.Delivery was speedy.
