When a Great Dane puppy is raised with a litter of Dachshunds, it naturally thinks it's a Dachshund too--even when it grows to 10 times the size. Dean Jones and Suzanne Pleshette star as the hapless couple who took in the galumphing dog, which wreaks havoc on their house and home. The Ugly Dachshund is mostly a series of spectacular disasters (the doggy demolition of Jones's art studio will delight kids and reduce adults to nervous wrecks), but it's held together by the convincing domestic banter of Jones and Pleshette (who was quite a dish in 1965); the pair went on to star in a couple of other Disney live-action flicks, Bluebeard's Ghost and The Shaggy D.A.. Despite some racial and gender stereotypes, it's a good-natured and amusing movie in the Disney mold. Also featuring classic character actor Charlie Ruggles (Bringing Up Baby, The Parent Trap). --Bret Fetzer

What a great film this is! We have 8 miniature dachshunds and this film portrays these little characters as they are in real life - full of mischief and courage! No doubt Great Dane owners will love the film too! I can watch this over and over again and see something new - well worth the purcahse (such a good price too!). Hope you all enjoy it - better still, get yourselves a dachshund and you'll see why!

Brillant funny feel good film for dog lovers. I saw this film as a child and loved it, I bought it again as an adult on DVD to show my partner as we were buying a Great Dane and he didn't know what they were like, I have owned Great Dane's before so I did, the film gave Chris an insight into their traits, having owned ours now for 3 years he can see that the portryal in the film was spot on.
Recommended for all ages.

Adorable, fun & FAB
I loved this film, Very Disney and a great film for dog lovers. I'm a huge Dachshund fan so this appealed to me :)

I love it
It was one of my favourite movie when I was a kid and even now after 20 years I think it is very funny. You can enjoy it with your family.
