Product Description

Every journey is an adventure. Especially one into the unknown.

The shocking discovery of her lover with someone else propels Roxanne into escaping to France, and seeking work as a grape-picker. She's never been abroad before and certainly never travelled alone.

Opportunistic loner, Armand, exploits her vulnerability when they meet by chance. She never thought she would see him again, or be the one who exposes his terrible crime.

Join Roxanne on her journey of self discovery, love and tragedy in rural France. Taste the wine, feel the sun, drive through the Provencal mountains with her, as her courage and resourcefulness are tested to the limit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Read 27 Mar 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the second book I've read by Alex Martin and found it a very different read to the norm. I enjoyed Daffodils very much but I understand The Twisted Vine was her first book. The landscape of the French wine growing regions were beautifully described and the characters were fresh and interesting. The story was a romance and a tragedy taking the reader through the complicated lives of very different people. I would recommend this and Alex Martin's new book Daffodils to anyone wanting to lose themselves in a thoroughly entertaining book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just a girlie tale 8 Jan 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book as a Christmas read, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The descriptions of wine growing and the French countryside, landscapes and people were excellently drawn. The book did what it said on the blurb, a thriller with a French bouquet. The style was sharp and well observed and evocative, the thriller part, (and speaking as a bloke), I would have liked to have been a little more "Ooomphy", but that is a very minor criticism and does not detract from the five stars I have given, and which this book richly deserves.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down! 15 Nov 2012
By S James
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
A fantastic read with an intelligent and captivating combination of an insight into grape picking in France, the culture and cuisine of the country and the fascinating characters. It was a real page turner prompting an eagerness to find out what would happen next. I was torn between not wanting to put it down and not wanting to finish it! The complex characters and the twists in the storyline led to a thoroughly enjoyable read.
