Diesel Therapy's debut album showcases their impressive talents as songwriters - all original material, written by Hornsby and Holmes - and as accomplished players. With a wide range of American music styles that stretches from chill-out accoustic guitar and dobro instrumentals though bluegrass and Telecaster twang right to electric slide guitar and blues harp a la Little Feat, there's something here to bring a smile to all. All of this though serves as a sound foundation for the songs and the rich weathered voice of Jim Hornsby. As they've written elsewhere, they were born in the UK, have never been hobos, jumped freight trains nor driven rigs. So they write of their own experiences, with acute observations of the minutiate of growing up in the North East and the memories and influences it's given them. "I had my nose pressed up to the glass in the window of a music shop downtown, staring at the price on a Gresch guitar, trying to will it down... " - how many of us have been there too ?? All cuts have been beautifully arranged, nicely harmonised and well recorded. All power to them, keep it rollin'....
