Book Description

What is The Tuck? An exciting 'Rift in our Reality' – our perception of the way things are. You'll never look at 'the woods behind your house' the same way ever again!

The Tuck (and title story) is a terrifying story that is based upon actual events involving a day in the life of a boy named Joe, when he encountered something otherworldly (something altogether hairy, and alien) in the woods behind his house. An encounter that changed his life – forever.

In addition, because The Tuck was first aired as a live read in front of an audience, we have left in the narrator’s amusing comments – which made this show one of the most popular – EVER!

But the excitement doesn’t end there; the author includes other stories by real people (just like you) and one very famous president, who also encountered something they couldn’t explain – something that nearly scared them to death, something that lurks in the woods, stalks us, and waits for us to enter its domain.
Watch your step – you could be next.

And when you’re done – Lyn gives you some of her favorite recipes that are sure to please the Bigfoot appetite in you, and shares some of her favorite pieces of classic literature, while exploding your mind with brain-teasers that will have your head spinning, and begging for more.

As always, Lyn’s goal is to enlighten and entertain, a trait that has earned her the title as the Dinner and a Movie author.

Now read some great reviews:
"I have to agree with another reviewer - I don't know if I could have held it together like this kid? The Tuck, huh? (What left him with that name imprinted on his memory?) This kid didn't just lose time, he lost the memory of it, and it haunted him the rest of his life! I don't know what he saw in the woods, but I've got a feeling he should just let it go, and count himself lucky. Better him than me." Josh M., MD

"WOW! Umm . . . I love taking a walk through the woods behind my house, never gave it a second thought, until now! This kid handled himself so well, I don't know if I could have kept it together like he did. Just an amazing story - and to know it really happened. Makes you wonder what's going on in Texas? I read Lyn Murray's "One Dark Halloween Night" - also based on actual events (another great story.) Maybe Bigfoot sightings are centered around leylines or something? Maybe something interdimensional coming through? Gee! Great Read! B. Maxwell, MD

More About the Author

A virtual recluse in her home, Villa Le Paradis Sur Terre, Lyn spends her days researching, reading, writing, and enjoying the simple things in life with her husband, like a good cup of coffee and quiet conversation. A pleasurable task made simple from the comfort of her lovely villa, the back of which is glass from floor to ceiling and overlooks a beautiful private lake that is filled with all sorts of wildlife that she and her husband delight in spoiling (feeding them the best corn and fruit). In consideration, I would say that if ever there was truth in a statement, Lyn is living proof that people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones . . . they should be writers.

Lyn is truly blessed, but her life was not always so charmed!

Per Lyn's request, Golden Panda Publishing supports The Salvation Army with a portion of the sale of her books; to understand why, visit her website at the link provided to get the whole story: http://lynmurray.wix.com/lynmurray#!lyns-causes/c1rgd

(>* ^ *<)

Lyn's main goal is to entertain; her charming writing style and compilations have tagged her books as the literary equivalents of "Dinner and a Movie"! Earning her the title as - the 'Dinner and a Movie' author.

She really does write for you!

She is fascinated by anything that has to do with the supernatural, the paranormal. This led her to become the author of Blooded [Anunnaki Rising], but she doesn't want you to confuse this book for just some young adult supernatural thriller with love triangles, vampires, werewolves, zombies, or dystopian societies. Blooded [Anunnaki Rising] blends the supernatural with what is perceived as mythological, historical fiction, [in which there may be more truth than fiction], while leaving readers considering the possibility that her spin on vampires might just be the real truth behind the legend.

A prolific writer of fiction, Lyn has more than a dozen books available for Kindle lovers everywhere, including two classic children's books in the "Little Book of Memories" series, which are also available in hard copy; and other fact based fiction novels that capture Lyn's diverse writing style that include horror stories, stories filled with mystery and intrigue, ghost stories, love stories, and more.

An intuitive, hopeless romantic, Lyn loves science fiction, horror, and spirituality (but she doesn't want you to confuse that for being supportive of mainstream religion). Her family has a politically rich history and is tied to the American Revolution. When she's not playing World of Warcraft with her son, researching natural healing methods, or feeding the ducks in her lake, she's spinning tales of mysterious What-ifs for you.

As always, Lyn's main goal is to entertain. It is her heartfelt desire that you enjoy her work.

God Bless, and never stop dreaming!

Compelling layers of stories and reports weave a dark and mysterious narrative in The Tuck. Murray is a master of suspenseful storytelling and reportage, weaving together story, research, first-hand reports and data all on the topic of experiences with unknown large monsters/animals in the North American woods. When I lived outside Seattle these stories were not uncommon and always told with a bit of trepidation but a lot of conviction. What is behind the enduring nature of these legends?

Murray explores the topic with an open-mind so that readers can drawn their own conclusions, or add this to their own piles of anecdotal research, or just enjoy this cultural fascination. Much of this content was new to me. i had no idea there was a U.S. President with a Sasquatch-type sighting, so that part of the book was incredibly interesting. The first hand reports were fascinating to consider from a logical point of view, and from a paranormal one as well.

This collection has fun material for Big Foot fanatics, too, including some puzzles and artwork. The best part, though, is the titled tale, wherein a narrator tells a campfire-like suspenseful tale of an encounter that offers a paranormal take on the Big Foot phenomenon. It's well told with just the right amount of tension, humor and lots of imagination. In all, a rewarding collection for anyone fascinated with reports of spooky monsters in the woods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating story 10 Feb. 2015

The Tuck was a great book. The author has a unique writing style that I enjoyed. The story The Tuck is in the middle of the book and it's surrounded by various reports of Bigfoot sightings and other newsy items related to the creature. I felt like that was a great set-up for the story itself and just when you think it's ended she again goes into some older historic accounts of creature sightings. This book is a great way to explore the truth and the mythology of Bigfoot. Some of the accounts in the book are absolutely riveting to point you wish you could interview them yourself to get more information from a first-hand sighting.

Overall, I think this was a book that was put together well. The epistolary style works with this type of subject and I would recommend it to readers who love to explore the paranormal world.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Tuck 11 Jan. 2015

Just finished this book, and was dismayed to discover it wasn't the read, that I had expected. It was good, but not nearly as good as Rusty Wilson's Book's containing true short stories from different individuals. I thought The Tuck was going to be one story about one families experiences with a Bigfoot or Bigfoot's, but it was not. Still, overall a good read.
