DVD Description
Detective Jay who does not know the meaning of giving up, is hot on the trail of T, a deadly terrorist. T (actor Sang-Min Park) was an elite secret agent for the government’s intelligence agency before getting tossed out for an assassinating a key figure. On the day of the new Mayor’s official visit to the subway, T hijacks the train and begins a full-scale act of terror. Pickpocket girl Kay (actress Doo-Na Bae), who senses what is going on, quickly contacts Detective Jay. The greatest act of terrorism in history, with the lives of 13 million citizens held hostage. The showdown begins between an out-of-control terrorist and a determined detective who is on the verge of life and death. As the passengers face their deaths, Detective Jay disconnects the first car. He has made the decision to sacrifice himself to save the others. His love was only too happy to be rid of the terrorist and it is only after he handcuffs her to the train that she realizes what he is about to do. Detective Jay holds onto the controls of the first car and asks her to pull the leaver to disconnect the two cars. The heroine must send the most cherished person in her life to fate. She must watch with the survivors in sorrow as the man who gave his life to save theirs, meets his end. Tube shows deep sadness and the true meaning of sacrifice.

Format:DVD
"Tube" is a nice little action movie, full of great action, adrenalin pumping music...it's pert "Heat", part "Infernal Affairs" and part "Speed".
Pity about the DVD though....
Not only is the Korean soundtrack ONLY 2-channel mono (where the poor English Dub is 5.1 Dolby Digital) but the supposed English Subtitles (as displayed on the box)are actually subtitles for the hard-of-hearing. This means that every, sound effect, every noise, every grunt...is described on-screen. It is very intrusive and diminishes the enjoyment of the movie.

Decent enough action movie - though some dodgy CGI. Very poor DVD release from a major studio though - default is English dubbed and although can be changed to Korean the English subtitles are for hard of hearing. And yeah - every grunt, gun-fire and laugh is signposted so, as mentioned by other reviewer, goes some way to destroying the impact of the movie. Very poor show - I'd go so far as to go 'Do not buy' - unless you understand Korean without the subs.

TUBE really is a thrill ride of a film, superior to just about anything Hollywood has offered in this genre it also has as many witty one-liners as gun battles and explosions and doesn't lose the audience with complicated back stories or distracting subplots Acting is stellar from all the main cast and the director does an incredible job in giving this the look and feel of a movie with ten times its relatively small budget.
