This really does deserve 5 stars. It has hints of blues, jazz, soul, country and torch, wrapped in perfect pop melodies. The instrumentation is simple but varied, with clarinet, pedal steel and solo piano. If you like Norah Jones "Feels like Home", Rilo Kiley, Camera Obscura or Shelby Lynne give this a listen. I was hooked by one 30 second sample!

First encounter Over the Rhine supporting the Cowboy Junkies - and instantly loved 'em. This album though, is in a class of it's own. It's funky, it's sexy, it's bluesy, it's their best yet. And lovers of Tom Waites will indentify with the penultimate track. A welcome addition to my collection.

I came across Over the Rhine by chance on the internet. We were visiting San Francisco on holiday and were looking for bands to check out and here they were! We purchased this album when we arrived and really enjoyed it. The band were promoting this album on their tour, and what a show it was - superb. They actually played the whole album which suited us as this was the only album we had heard, since then we have virtually bought their full collection. I am sure you will not be disappointed when you hear this cd. You will want to buy another and another!
