4.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect book title 5 Feb 2011
By Jana McAnally - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a wonderfully useful book for anyone interested in tracing their family history, but I would just like to point out that the title is incorrect on the Amazon website. The subtitle should read "Creative Techniques for Overcoming Obstacles..." instead of "Advanced Techniques". I borrowed this book from the library, and had to double-check the ISBN number to make sure it was the same book. The cover is also different from the one pictured (it has a sepia photograph of a couple with a small child). The content of the book appears to be the same, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Troubleshooter's Guide to Do-It Yorself Genealogy 22 May 2011
By Carolyn McCormick - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
An entertaining and informative book to those looking for help when coming to roadblocks in searching their family history. Lots of good suggestions from sources, questions and persons to ask and the correct questions to ask as well as links for online and addresses for direct mail searches.

Good helps for searching land records and getting the most out of visiting cemeteries as well as searching out old records available from military, church and Bible records as well as old newspapers. Some great examples included in all areas.

Relevant examples - a fantastic guide that answered a lot of my questions about doing your family history :)
