Format:Audio CD
Fantastic album, "Fluid Sand" and "Natural Child" are the standout tracks for me. "The Trip" is a much more quirky, diverse and experimental album than Laetitia's material with Monade. On first listen you're struck by how sparse some of the arrangements are, and by the unusual choice of instruments and sounds (even within a single track like "Fluid Sand"). My least favourite track is the cover of "Summertime" because it's quite conventional and I don't think it sits too well in this album that is otherwise packed with wild and crazy originality. Even so Laetitia manages to put a nice French spin on it so I don't skip past it just yet. Just like the best material by Stereolab, I'm finding it hard to get the melodies from this album out of my head, it will be on my permanent playlist for a long time yet.

its been long overdue to see laetitia sadiers own name on an album cover,the trip is an album,barring one song Un Soir, Un Chien,stripped bare of moog and synths,and a greater emphasis on guitar and vocals,as laetitia voice is so distintive,you could tell it was her,if she was singing in the bath,never mind on a record.
i love this album ,its a grower,contemplative lyrics,soulful songs of loss ,hopes and wishes,one million trip ,and by the sea are great songs that drive the record,with slower ,thoughtful songs fluid sand,statues can bend and ceci est le coeur.
i hope sterolab don,t split,but having listened to monade and now the solo record,i know laetitia sadier makes beautiful music,as well as thought provoking,philosophical lyrics
