The Trinity Awakening is the latest instalment of the Seckry Sequence, continuing on from the first book, City of the Falling Sky. We rejoin Seckry and his friends once more for another school year, and delve deeper into Seckry's past and the wondrous world of Skyfall. Just like first book, there are twists and turns abound in the novel, the prologue itself throwing up a few surprises.

The book opens with Seckry, the eponymous hero of the series, about to start a new school term, and he's surrounded by familiar faces. He's still training with the Eastern Eidolons - his Friction team, hoping to defend their Mega Meltdown title, enjoying science teacher (and burgeoning mentor) Vance's lessons and incurring the wrath of Cut Throat Cutson. We find our protagonist starting to explore how deep his feelings towards his girlfriend Eiya are, and, in what is shaping up to be the overall story arc of the series, trying to find out more about his dad, who disappeared in mysterious circumstances many years before.

Our hero is in many ways still an everyman in spite of his experiences so far, and with each twist and turn, with each new discovery, he seems as in awe of the fantastical world he inhabits as we do whilst reading about it. He takes us with him on his journey. His friends are just like the people you grew up with, well written, well rounded characters that that you find yourself caring about deeply.

This book, more so that the first, focuses much more on Seckry and his fellow friends in the Friction team Eastern Eidolons, eschewing some of the more peripheral characters of the previous book.

this is a great book but if you haven't read the 1st book I recommend you read it because it is easier to understand this one when u have read the 1st. The book progresses well and at the end of the book there is a great twist which makes you want to get the next book straight away. I can't wait for the next book. overall a very good read

What a fantastic book. I bought the first two in this series for my 15 year old son (a fan of Percy Jackson and the cherub series), he loved it, as did his friend. I read it on his recommendation and was very impressed with the quality of the writing and the exciting narrative. Looking forward to reading more!

I loved the main plot with the mysteries that occur through out the book. Mr Evans did a great job fitting all of mysteries with the main plot at the end. And I wish Friction was a real game!!!!!!!
