After being enthralled by the film itself, I went ahead to purchase this soundtrack and was hoping to continue the state of trance and complete and utter solitude I felt watching the brilliantly constructed film. Listening to the songs really do take me back to that seat in the cinema where I experienced an epiphany, as I'm sure most of the audience did and this is the aspect I really do enjoy.
To those of you who haven't seen the movie, the order and songs may confuse you as they are ordered to the structure of the movie which was
1. Childhood
2. Circles
3. Clouds
4. River
5. Awakening
6. Emergence of life
7. Light and Darkness
8. Good and evil
9. Motherhood
10. City of Glass
11. Fatherhood
12. Temptation
13. Skies
However if you are willing to attempt to understand these concepts and how intrinsically beautiful they can sound combined- then I highly recommend this c.d. I assumed that most tracks would be uplifting as the movie itself was but I am having to fast forward most of them
Tracks which I always find myself skipping to are 4 and 9, the rest are relatively solemn and are almost depressing with the absence of visual accompaniment.
Nevertheless, an excellent purchase and recommended to anyone with a mature taste in music who just wants some peace whilst tucking into a novel, or an accompaniment to studying for a student riddled with stress.
