A comprehensive and informative guide to the countries of the world. Not overloaded with useless fact and figures this book is ideal for dipping into prior to undertaking a trip to a new, or even re-visiting a previous, country.

The book is divided in two parts. The former embraces loads of articles about travelling. These articles tend to have a practical rather than literary approach to the art of travel. Many are quiete useful giving you hints and tips about different countries and ideas to develop you own itineraries. Some of these articles are written by seasoned and well-known writers travellers so they are a must read and the others are also interesting enough for a quick browse.
The second part of the book is a country fact list with its main features: weather, languages, population, highlights, ... Useful if you don't decide where to go and need some ideas, since it lists all the countries of the world.
Summing up, I would recommened this book and propaply buy the next edition

Doesn't really provide much other than quick info on countries. Its really quite pointless to be honest and you'll be spending money on something a quick google could get you.
