Although not what you'd typically imagine as bed time reading for someone of about 10 yrs old it was as enjoyable then as it is now. When this book was first published my Mum bought it and one night decided to start reading it to my sister and myself and although quite young and certainly not a great fan of literature at the time i realised i would enjoy reading this book again and again throughout the years. And now, 7 years later i have just finished reading it again and have enjoyed the ending as much as i have ever done over the countless times i have read this book. Although it can be quite a depressing book at times, in fact quite a lot of the time, it is one of those books that you will still enjoy and the ending seems to make the suffering all worthwhile. The Trap is not one of the most realistic books i have ever read, the idea of nowadays a young man giving up his life to stay and care for 4 children that he hardly knows and isn't related to while still in his prime of life doesn't seem like something that would commonly occur, however the outcome makes you wish that there were still people like Jamie Blair in the world. Someone who would sacrifice his own enjoyment to help care for others. This book is thoroughly enjoyable and as i think i have proved a book that will entertain many generations of people.
