First, a word of real praise fo Amazon!. My original copy of "The Traitor" just would't play, whatever I did. On Sunday 10th Jul I filled in on line all the "bits" and printed my return forms. Minutes later an E_Mail arrived confirming my actions. Monday 11th I posted my faulty copy. Tuesday 12th my replacement copy arrived. Now that is good!! However, It really doesn't seem worth it now I've sat through 81' of almost complete boredom. You must not take at face value the blurb quoted here on Amazon and on the reverse of the DVD - "by far the best of their (E.J.Fancy) productions". To say it's a ponderous production is putting it mildly. Practically all of it is set in Wolfit's country mansion, and boy, does everyone talk!! I have a soft spot for Br "B" films of this era, but not this one. The acting, and casting is poor (though fairly typical - American "Star" and familiar support actors, all talking with variable foreign accents). If you don't guess who "The Traitor" is before the end you haven't seen many of this type of film. 3 stars because it's rare, excellent print, and cast list on the cover, and just maybe I will be in a minority in my views. I await other comments with interest.
