Product Description

Review

The simplicity of Hare's and Reynolds' work appears, at times, to be almost surreal. It quickly becomes apparent though to the reader that a Lot of what is being explained is not in fact some complicated theory but rather under-standing what we all do day in and day out - using our brains on a practical level. All in all for what is essentially a text book, the content is fun. It is light hearted and tr-eats the concept of brain-friendly learning and development as something to be enjoyed rather than dreaded. It might just make the lives of trainers that Little bit easier in trying to convey messages which, after all, are more often than not plain, simple common sense. This book contains the key things that you need to make a training session really make a difference. Come to that, it can be applied to lots of other situations too - I have also applied the contents to project meetings, workshops and facilitated sessions.

The book doesn't just contain tools and techniques that you'd expect from a great book on training, it includes such vital information as how to keep people's brains in the most appropriate states for learning and for being productive and what to have for lunch to avoid the post lunch slump. It works very well too.. I've been using these techniques for over a year in a blue chip multinational to great effect.

Recommended.

I have never bothered to write a review for anything before, probably because nothing has compelled in the way this book has!

I have read many training books, some of them good, yet none come close to this. This is best described as a one-stop shop for great training ideas, techniques and concepts that pulls together the best bits of NLP, Accelerated Learning, psychology, learning styles...you name it, if it will help you design and deliver a superior workshop/course it's here!

Not only is everything here that you'd need, but as you'd hope from this type of book, it is written in a way that will get you excited about your next course. The book is good for reading cover to cover (if you're sad like me) or for dipping in and out of to find the perfect exercise or approach for your training.

Don't think twice about it buying this book if you'd like a practical and enjoyable approach to spicing up your training.

A great book for trainers, a really good mix of theory and ideas. It includes sections you can dip in and out of with suggestions to help embed learning, reveiw and evaluate, ideas for making the training enviroment more engaging as well as thoughts on how to engage a range of learners.

There is a vast amount of information in this book and I have found something new and interesting everytime I have come back to it.
