This book was lovely to look at and made me want to go to Spain immediately. The photos are stunning and there are good terrain shots rather than fancy pics of bikes.
The ride pages had a clear key system which meant choosing a ride and then following it was made easy. Most of the rides were easy to follow, one was a bit confusing (but it was graded as hard to find).
The introductory pages were invaluable, especially the bit with the bike parts labelled in Spanish.
I really liked the feel of this book and the different colour coded sections!

This book is a bit dated now but it is nicely put together and it is useful for finding new riding areas.
The recommended trails though are quite poor. There are no route maps just written explanations.
Some of the trails I have done are pretty poor and wrong. Some areas are not even worth riding so don't plan a holiday using this book.
If you want actual routes to ride then this book is not much good. The trails mentioned are mostly up roads and down fire trails. When the correct route should be up the fire trails and down the singletracks. I assume (in the areas I went to) that he couldn't find the correct trails.

A good looking and pracitical book, with lots of useful and interesting information about the regions as well as the rides. Some of the trails in Andalucía have sections that we ride regularly with our guests on Pure Mountains mountain bike holidays. Living on the spot we might recommend some slight variations (like riding a couple of the routes the other way around to get the most out of tricky singletrack sections)and many additional routes for the next edition. Highly recommended.

Whilst planning my holiday to spain this summer I came across this book. It is well written and has excellent photos of all the trails and gives a flavour of each region. It is easy to navigate round the book because all regions are colour coded. I think I may walk some of these trails as as some look quite challenging (see inside cover!!)
I look forward to my trip and I think this book will allow me to visit parts of Spain I have not heard of before!

Good guide and the GPS notes are handy, if you have gps that is. We did 2 of the rides and as the book warns us we got lost on both occasions but did find our way eventually. Only way to improve the book would be if it was accompanied by a map of the route but to be fair it does tell you where you can buy the maps in the resorts. (which we did) Good tip is to photocopy the routes you are planning on doing to take on the ride then you are not having to stuff the book into an already full rucksack.
