Product Description

Book Description

To the uninitiated, it's a simple stick. To the skilled player, the cane holds pride of place in any dungeon for its simplicity, beauty, utility and unparalleled intensity. Janet Hardy, a switchable pain fetishist with a particular fondness for canes, shares a decade and a half of expertise on both ends of the cane: use, materials, construction, maintenance, different styles of application, pacing aftercare and much more.

This is a small book, 154x101mm, with 103 pages, on the subject of canes and their use. The canes in question are of the type derived from the age-old use of scholastic chastisement, but which are now used almost exclusively for the erotic purpose of stimulating (mostly) the nether regions of those who enjoy such stimuli, either as a prelude to more conventional erotic activities, or not. It could be said that the book contains nothing that is not freely available on websites devoted to corporal chastisement, but there is a major advantage in having the material collected here by a sympathetic, even enthusiastic, author who provides a uniform treatment, suitable for curious beginners, which will provide them with safe habits, whether as providers or consenting recipients of caning. The range of implements suitable for use, and common sense techniques are described, using a sprinkling of necessary illustrations which are in themselves non-erotic, but adequate for the purpose. Advice is provided for both caners and canees, striving to avoid the possible pitfalls awaiting those intend on exploring the pleasure/pain boundary. The book can be recommended for those who are curious, but in some trepidation, given the aura of infamy that is perceived by many 'outsiders'.

I thoroughly reccommend this book for both beginners in the scene of CP and those somewhat more experienced. Told from an obviously honest enthusiasts point of view - although brief, is extremely to the point. I wouldn't reccommend it for a saucy secret santa, but if you know someone who has a burgeoning interest, then certainly this book is a must!

Cane Away! 27 May 2004
By Todd Hawley - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This tiny book offers some a "quick and dirty" introduction to the world of canes and caning. Ms Hardy offers some of her thoughts about this activity, as well as some of the "luridness" of it (she mentions Micheal Fey's caning in Singapore as an example of this), and also a chapter that she calls "The Craft of Caning," which is a short lesson on how to cane someone. Later on, she turns the tables by describing "how to receive the caning," as well as the different types of canes and finally making your own and how to take proper care of them so that they last a good long time.

Since this book along with the others in this series do fit inside a toybag, I could see where someone about to do a caning scene might quickly refer to this for a few pointers before proceeding. This book is not a "beginners caning book" however, again more of a quick review before heading on. Still it has great information readily available at a moment's glance.

the whole toybag series is just really a must have for anyone interested in the lifestyle. This bookworks like clifnotes to a class, it doesn't replace hands on trainng (as it tells you) but def will help you learn and remember the basics and even a bit beyond. I recomend the whole series!
Interesting and useful little book 11 Dec 2011
By sardonicus - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This little book is very interesting and useful for anyone with an interest in the subject matter. It provides a thorough look into the fascinating subject of canes and caning, without pandering to the tastes of those looking for vicarious thrills. Ms. Hardy is a very experienced practitioner of the art of caning and she makes the book a very intriguing read. Anyone with an interest in the art of caning, submitting to the cane, or even making canes, will find something useful in this little, but impressively thorough book.
