This book is a great up close and personal look at (what i think is) the world's greatest sporting event. It really makes you appreciate what an incredible achievement it is to compete and complete the Tour De France -forget about winning, just getting through this guelling event is impressive enough for me. The detail that Tour De France For Dummies goes into- such as the ins and outs of the course, what the cyclists eat,the bike technology-had me gripped. If you love the tour de france, this book will make you love it even more....

Le Tour dummy 26 Aug 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this as i love watching Le Tour but didn't know how any of it works, ie who gets points and for what, how the shirts are awarded, etc. It seems to be answering all my questions and more and is packed with info and anecdotes. I will be a Le Tour dummy no longer. Excellent.

One fears that this "dummies" series may become mechanical. But this is a great book for learning about the tour
