Product Description

Product Description

It's easy to see why a diet high in junk food, additives and sugar is bad for our children's health, but it is also becoming increasingly clear that a bad diet is detrimental to their behaviour and moods. As levels of ADHD, aggression, bullying and low IQ increase, more attention is being paid to the impact of the foods that children are eating every day. The great news is that it's easy to change your child's diet and, in doing so, balance moods and enhance brain function, concentration, behaviour, and ultimately happiness. Charlotte Watts and Gemini Adams show how to prepare quick, tasty and nutritious meals for your children, but in recipes that have the added benefit of improving their mood and behaviour. Whip up a quick breakfast of blueberry and apple muffins, pile chicken dippers, a brown roll and muesli munchies into a lunchbox for them to take to school, fill them up with sweet potato wedges when they get home and serve a feast of smiley-face pizza followed by banana and coconut ice cream for supper. Your kids will love the food and you'll love the improvement in their state of mind and contentment.

I have to confess I don't have kids but I absolutely love this book! The recipes are so easy to follow and really delicious but best of all they're actually good for you too, often a rare thing with great tasting food. Two of my favourites are the salmon and corriander fishcakes (nothing like the horrendous Birds Eye efforts I was forced to eat as a child) and the sweet potato scorchers. Divine! Don't let the kids have all the fun, buy it for yourself and put a happy smile on your pizza!

I absolutely love using this book especially when I am stuck for ideas of what to feed the kids. It contains loads of recipes that provide essential nutrition and also creates fun for feeding times! I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves giving their kids good food.

This is a great guide for great food. Each recipe is easy to follow, with clear steps for cooking and preparation. I think the layout is wonderful and helps to make the food appealing to children. With other cook books out there they seem to view the structure with an adult perspective, which does not really help when the food is meant for children! I highly recommend this book, especially as the majority of dishes are very tasty, even for us big kids! The rest I have yet to cook, as still working my way through it. The smoothies are great too. Only drawback is the cover, which I guess was the publishers idea. It is in very poor taste, no pun intended. It also seems that they possibly played around with the original recipes to tailor them to their own concepts, many of which should not be followed. Gemini Adams comes across as a fantastic cook and I would happily buy her next book! Charlotte also has provided some valuable guidance into what we eat and how it affects us emotionally. Which is perhaps something we forget to pay attention to. Thank you Gemini and Charlotte!
