The key to understanding our dreams is looking beyond individual symbols and being able to see the bigger picture in the stories that we choose to create every night. There are 100 of these dream themes that are consistently reported by dreamers everywhere in the world, regardless of country or culture. These top 100 dreams appear again and again because they reflect fundamental life patterns. By recognising them, you will begin to achieve a much deeper understanding of your dreams and yourself.

The Top 100 Dreams explains why you dream them, and suggests how you can use them to help you realise your most cherished hopes and aspirations in everyday life.

More About the Author

Ian Wallace is a psychologist who specialises in dreams and dreaming. Since graduating in Psychology, Ian has analysed over 170,000 dreams for his clients during his professional career as a dream psychologist. His experience and insight from this work leads Ian to believe that exploring our dreams is the most powerful and accessible way to realise what we want in life and how to achieve it. He regularly appears on television, on radio and in print, where is consistently recognised and applauded for his articulacy, his accuracy and his authority.

Ian is the originator of the Dream Connection Process, a unique and powerful method that enables anyone to connect the imagery and symbolism that they create in their dreams to situations and opportunities in waking life where they can use this awareness to make a healthy difference. He uses the Dream Connection Process with even the scariest and most disturbing nightmares, so that the dreamer can identify positive actions to take in waking life that will help them connect with their deepest hopes and aspirations. As Ian says to his clients, "A dream is just a dream until you put it into action".

5.0 out of 5 stars A practical dream book based on solid evidence 14 Aug 2011
By Eric
The Top 100 Dreams is a fantastic book! Unlike many dream books that I've read, it's very clearly written and really well structured. I particularly like that the author used the consistent format of describing the dream, explaining its meaning and then suggesting really clear actions to take to use the information from the dream. As he says "A dream is just a dream until you put it into action."

One of the challenges I used to have with interpreting my dreams was the conflicting symbol descriptions in many dream dictionaries. As I read this book I was delighted to see that Ian Wallace gives actual proven cultural and psychological backgrounds to the dream symbols and patterns that we all encounter.

As well as the description of the most common 100 dreams in Dream, Meaning, Action and Background format, there is a wealth of information about why we dream and what dreams actually are. Again this is based on solid evidence, rather than the usual unfounded speculation of most other dream books.

5.0 out of 5 stars our mind never sleeps 4 Jan 2012
By Pin
I bought this book for my husband this Christmas. He has been dipping in an out of it to understand his many and varied dreams. Ian Wallace has included information about the research behind his analyse and also gives guidance to the reader about what they could do with the information their dreams are giving them. A well structured and useful book which is not only a good read but is definitely 'food for thought' and you never know some action too.

A fantastic book written by a extremely talented author and broadcaster. "THE TOP 100 DREAMS" is a fascinating read from start to finish, and is light years ahead in both layout and content from all other books on the subject. Well done Mr Ian Wallace!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely full of great information! 14 Aug 2011
This is a really brilliant book! It's absolutely crammed full of useful insights into the dreaming process and practical methods for using your dreams. The `About Dreams' and `About Dreaming' sections are great, packed with information about why we dream and how we can use our dreams.

I found the descriptions of the 100 most common dreams to be really fascinating and unlike so many dream books, these interpretations actually do make so much sense. The thing I found particularly interesting was how the language we use in everyday life is reflected in our dream images.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good book 5 Aug 2011
By Dan
This book is great! Ian really manages to show that dreams are a consequence of our actions and emotions when we are wake rather than events that happen to us. The book really avoids any mumbo jumbo, allowing an insightful look at an otherwise poorly written about subject.

What most impressed me was the action sections after each dream so that an individual can do something to understand themselves better and deal with personal issues.

This is a must buy for anyone interested in this area.

4.0 out of 5 stars An insight into the infinite mind and spirit.
An interesting down to earth exploration of the unconscious minds of humans. I often 'open up' the themes to take in the spiritual element of who we are. Clever man - Ian Wallace.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than I expected
I've owned Dream dictionaries in the past, and I've always found them to be uninformative- a typical example, you look up 'teeth falling out' and it says 'fear of growing old'. Read more
