More About the Author

As a financial journalist I have hands on experience of the City of London. The Trade, published by Endeavour Press, is a thriller based in the murky world of finance in the pre-digital days of the early nineties.

My Sci-Fi thriller for 8-11 years old features London, Switzerland and the Outer Hebrides, among many other places in this galaxy and the next. I tone it down for the younger children, with The Toffee Makers series -- but even in this magical world, there is mischief ... I added a new Toffee Makers adventure to coincide with the World Cup -- a must for football lovers, young and old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performance, with some skilfull moves 23 Jun. 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Well, we enjoyed it! Being long-suffering England fans it was nice to have a happy ending for a change. Maybe this only happens in fairy tales? But this little book was far from ordinary. Yes, we had the "loser", who fulfills his dream -- but the story is told with wit, style and originality. It's a good tale for football loving girls and boys and, also, anyone who has enjoyed the other books in this series. Mischievous, magical Delphi is there, of course, stirring things up and making them happen. It's definitely more than a mere kick around -- a welcome addition to the Toffee Makers collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Footie Fun! 22 Jun. 2014
By F Rushmore - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I bought this short book for my son as a bedtime read. We both love football and it seemed appropriate. We weren't disappointed. It was good fun and had a real feel-good factor -- what football fan, skilled or not, wouldn't wish to fulfill his/her dream? We read the book over two nights -- could have been one, but there was a match on downstairs! We'll read it again and, probably, again and again. It's good to win, even in our imaginations. This is one for boys and girls of all ages.
