The Toby Twirl Adventure Books - "A Collector's Guide" by Martin Hockley

As the author of the Toby Twirl books I congratulate Martin Hockley on His Collector's Guide to the Toby Twirl Adventure Books which is a beautifully produced and constructed book.

I particularly like the way he has shown the order of publication and the contents of each book, and the "rarities" section is also of particular interest.

The Collector's Guide gives a comprehensive view of the whole period during which I wrote the Toby Twirl Adventure Books. I imagine it will be of great value to all those who collect the
Toby Twirl books and memorabilia.

At last, a price guide for Toby Twirl books! This excellent little book with plenty of colourful illustrations is a collector's dream. Several pages tell about the lives of the Toby Twirl author, Sheila Hodgetts and the illustrator Edward Jeffrey along with information on the publishers. The rest of the book lists the rarities as well as all the annuals and other books about Toby Twirl, the "pig with the curly tail".

As a collector who spent hours trying to find out any information on the author and the annuals I am very pleased that this is now available as it will help me to identify the books that are missing from my collection.

I have waited for a book on Toby Twirl for many years and now it's here, and well worth the wait. As well as guiding you through the Toby Twirl years,including excellent photographs, there is a section on rarities and information about Sheila Hodgetts ( author ) and Edward Jeffrey ( illustrator ). It also includes tips on collecting Toby Twirl items and a guide as to what to expect to pay.
In ending this review I must mention the quality of the book. It is outstanding.A book I will treasure.
